Deacons’ Shoe Fund; Remarkable as it might seem another school year has flown by. As the new school year approaches, we continue to see many children in our community that are in need. The Deacons’ Shoe Fund is in its 41st year of collecting funds to purchase shoes for Carpinteria’s school aged children. Your contribution, combined with donations from many local businesses, churches, and community service organizations, will provide gift cards for shoes from the  Payless ShoeSource. Each card is redeemable for one or more pairs of shoes at Payless. Last year over $5,000 was collected and 260 gift cards purchased and distributed. The size of Carpinteria’s heart continues to amaze us. Thank you for supporting this worthwhile cause. Garrison Keillor says it best, “Anything done for children is never wasted.”

With sincere thanks,
